R. L. Dione was born in South Portland, Maine, in 1922. During World War II he was a paratrooper in the European Theatre. He studied at Purdue University, Antioch College, Winthrop College, Southern Conneticut State College and obtained a B.S degree from the University of Maine and an M.A. Degree from Columbia Teachers College.
He travelled widely, fought in the prize ring and authored two books of enduring significance: God Drives a Flying Saucer and Is God Super-Natural? - The 4000 Year Misunderstanding.
He was married and fathered 5 children. Everything else about him remains a mystery. You can read here the introduction to our edition of God Drives a Flying Saucer, by his rather eccentric colleague Mr Quincy Schmerz.
