Ryanair Chief Executive Michael O’Leary endorses Nick McGinley’s new book ‘100 Reasons to Vote YES to Lisbon II’

Speaking to publisher Daniel Caffrey at a Ryanair Press conference in the Clarion Hotel, Dublin Airport yesterday afternoon, O’Leary said: "I've read the book and I think it's brilliant". He also agreed to distribute 500 copies to his staff and to carry copies to all Lisbon related events that he’ll be attending between now and the referendum. O'Leary has endorsed the book despite some of the strong language used both about himself and Ryanair in parts of the book, showing that the issue of a YES vote in the coming referendum supercedes personal or business interests.

McGinley’s book takes a comic and politically independent look at what the treaty means to the Irish public. It clearly outlines how this pivotal reform protects Irish neutrality, supports our social values and enhances Ireland's power and influence within Europe.

Nick McGinley is a writer based in Dublin. His comedy sketch show Hoarse Throat Soothers co-written with Shane O’Neill won ‘Spirit of the Unfringed Festival’ in 2008. He has been a radio essayist for Spectrum and Frequencies on RTE Radio 1 and has written stage and & radio plays, TV scripts and screen plays. He is currently working on a collection of short stories.
