An introduction by Quincy Schmerz:

"Shut the fuck up. That’s the reaction of most people, most ‘normals’, when confronted with the FACT that life exists on other planets. Human beings exist don’t we? Is it really so hard to fathom that non-human beings do too? Not only do non-human beings exist but they are studying our every move from a world beyond the skies of human perception. On its publication ‘God Drives A Flying Saucer’ sent ripples through the world and even the universe. Until the publication of this seminal book in 1969, the connection between God and the saucerians was an alien concept! Prepare to read the truth about God’s ‘miracles’ including the immaculate conception of Our Mother Mary using a needle filled with sacred semen, the loaves and fishes and the story of Moses. There is also light shed on the existence of other dimensions, the inspiration behind Hitler writing ‘Mein Kampf’ and the true physical height of Adam and Eve. Surely it is a testament to the weight of these concepts that the book has already been translated into two languages. It’s certain to say that you will never be the same once you’ve finished reading this. You will learn about concepts, ideas and theories that will literally blow your mind off.

Science and religion have always been strange bedfellows. In much of contemporary academic and philosophical debate the two are treated as separate ideological entities. Think of science and religion as being like two estranged brothers who don’t know they are even related. Perhaps one brother is highly educated and rational but the other brother is a dumb sh*th**l c*nt who beats up ethnic minorities. In theory it may seem they do not have that much in common but they are still brothers and there is a human bond between them. The groundbreaking ideas of R.L. re-unites these two seemingly disparate siblings and makes them realise how much they do have in common. Yes, they may have been brought up on opposite sides of the tracks but they still have the same parents. In fact, the ‘bigger picture’ is that the notions and belief systems at the centre of science and religion are not mutually exclusive. They overlap in ways we could previously never have imagined.

Science has traditionally dealt in the currency of facts, empirical data and proof. The scientists view of religion would typically be one of doubt. A scientist might suggest that the idea of God and of organised religion is purely an imaginary human construct fabricated by man as a means of coping with the human condition, his own mortality and the pointless nothing that awaits after death. “Well”, Professor Notbelieve might say to Father Faith in a game of spiritual Cluedo, “if God exists, then prove it. Where is he?”. As this question is asked, God is on board an extraterrestrial ship chuckling at the non-believers and high-fiving little saucerians. Our alien friends play more than a small role in the religion of man. For example, The Holy Trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. It doesn’t take a scientist (rocket or otherwise) to figure out the Holy Ghost refers to none other than an extraterrestrial. When you realise that God’s alleged miracles are not the work of a supernatural being but a supertechnological being using scientifically proven methods to serve his purpose, the link cannot be any clearer. What scientists are failing to realise is that science and religion are two branches of the same tree. God is working with science, not against it. He is using the exact same technology to control spacecrafts which he has chosen to pass on to scientists on earth through mind communication. They should be grateful, not doubtful. If a person does not believe in God, then they don’t believe in themselves. This means you do not exist and I’m sorry but I find it hard to take your opinion seriously if you don’t even exist!

Alas, there are doubters. Despite the mountain of evidence to the contrary, some people still deny that UFOs exist. This is tantamount to denying the Holocaust or claiming that pigs don’t have feet. Anyone who doesn’t believe in the existence of UFOs, I ask you this: do you believe in aeroplanes, helicopters, even kites!? Then it is entirely scientifically feasible that UFOs exist and are speeding above us right now. When ‘God Drives A Flying Saucer’ was originally published, UFO sightings were taking place on average every 20 minutes. Although there are no accurate figures available, it’s believed that in recent decades this has increased to every 15 minutes. This is more regular than some bus routes. A disproportionate amount of these sightings happen in the United States of America. This is due to the free and democratic nature of our society. For example, in China during the 1980s people were not allowed to go outside and hence sightings were much lower. In many Arab speaking countries, people must wear burlap sacks on their heads all day which makes seeing an alien craft much less likely. If someone said to you they’d been on vacation to somewhere you’d never been, you wouldn’t call them crazy and refuse to believe them. The same logic stands when dealing with alien crafts and abductions. After all, any subjective experience is of a purely individual nature and can only be communicated through words. This book gives many examples of not only abductions but general sightings. Statistically, you may well be reading this book on board an alien craft. May I wish you a safe and enriching journey with our space brethern.

My extreme knowledge of this subject is obvious but I learned from the best. Robert L. Dione (R.L. to his friends) – pioneer, visionary, writer, soothsayer, man of science, man of God, believer, sceptic, explorer of the human map, divorcee. We first met in 1956 at Spirals bookstore on 53rd and 2nd East in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. I was a young wet-behind-the-ears writer researching my first novel, a pagan thriller entitled ‘Detective Druid, I Presume’. I was browsing in the Metaphysics section and minding my own business. R.L. introduced himself and asked if I was familiar with the concept of electromagnetic osmosis. That first meeting was unforgettable and is etched in my memory:

Me: (reading book silently, smoking a pipe)
R.L.: I’m R.L. Dione. Are you familiar with the concept of electromagnetic osmosis? (Lighting up a cigar).
Me: No.

It was clear from the beginning we had an amazing rapport. He truly was a striking individual; ruggedly handsome, sporting a burgundy polo-neck and tan cut-end blazer. He sweated charisma. His piercing eyes radiated a keen intelligence but also an innocence. We spoke about each others work and he introduced me to his theories. In particular, his interest in UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects). He revealed to me that the saucerians had orchestrated a government whitewash by attempting to ban the publication of God Drives a Flying Saucer. As he explained in his lucid, melliflous manner, they probably used electro-magnetic thought signals to infiltrate the brains of the politicians and government agents. They, in turn, would begin to act on the messages that the saucerians were transmitting to the inside of their heads and unwittingly ban the book. This process is explained in more detail within.

There are many anecdotes surrounding the book, some you may have heard about in hushed whispers and internet discussion groups, some you certainly won’t have. For the first time, I can exclusively reveal and prove that the saucerians have indeed read this book too. In 1970, Eduardo Perera, a poor migrant labourer was sitting in a cornfield in South Dakota relaxing after a hard days toil. A blinding light appeared above him beaming down from approximately 100 metres. He was extremely frightened due to his poor education and terrible grasp of the English language. Yet he felt comforted and strangely drawn towards the light. Several hours later, he awoke shivering in the darkness in the same field wearing only a pair of underpants. His satchel, which included a copy of ‘God Drives A Flying Saucer’, was nowhere to be found. The saucerians, not wanting to reveal their existence to authorities, planted an empty bourbon bottle beside Eduardo. When the local police force arrived, he patiently tried to explain that his satchel and book had been stolen by beings from another world and he had been taken aboard their craft. They assumed he was some drunk peasant savage with an over-active imagination or possible low-level mental illness. Of course, the planted bottle completely discredited his case. Tragically, Eduardo was to spend the next 12 years in a mental lockdown facility.

The advent of the internet has revolutionised the UFO movement. Years ago, we had to rely on the testimonies of people who witnessed sightings and/or were abducted. We had to travel across the country and the world researching and interviewing people about their experiences. Now, it is possible to contact people instantly using communication such as electronic mail (e-mail), instant messaging and posting on forums. There is no doubt that extraterrestrials are monitoring the internet to keep tabs on the technological development of humanity. In fact, a well known search engine company found evidence of people attempting to hack into their servers. What they found alarming is that the hackers were traced and found to be located not on Planet Earth, but several million miles away. Of course, you won’t read about this in the newspapers or mainstream media as there’s no reason why a large corporation would admit security breaches on an inter-galactic scale. Next time you search for pictures of ‘large round tits’ on the internet, bear in mind extraterrestrial beings and God himself know exactly what you’re up to.

In many ways, America has been a lesser place since R.L. was taken up but all who knew him have soldiered on, seeking answers to the questions that no-one is asking. I have published many more works of fiction and non since my days toasting at his ample fireside. My most successful novel to date has been ‘Bloodcake Horizon’, a tale of a mystical island where insects can write music that heals the sick. That was optioned for an animated feature film in 1981. My children’s book ‘Just You Now’ teaches orphans that the world is a frightening, lonely place and only to rely on oneself. Of course I have also written several landmark books on UFOs; ‘Alien Disco’, ‘Cloud 9, Area 51’ and ‘Where Did The Green Man Touch You?’.

Over the last four decades since the book was unleashed, many world events have been shaped by God and the saucerians. As we are living in such turbulent times in terms of global stability, I feel there is no better time for ‘God Drives A Flying Saucer’ to re-emerge from the darkness back into the spotlight it so rightly deserves. It seems that as we grapple with complex issues such as war, poverty and climate change we must all try to find a way forward before we destroy ourselves and the planet. If only R.L. were around to write a follow-up book the world would be a better place. So where is R.L.? Suffice to say he is alive and well but not in this dimension. I can’t reveal his exact whereabouts but if you stare up into the night sky and look carefully, you’ll see a star that is twinkling a little more than the others."

Patently I love this book or I would not have published it. I will add though that I find Robert Dione's readable, earnest and charming style raises this book substantially above the work of his peers.
